GRENACHE ROSÉ 2022

Wolf & Woman Grenache Rosé is made from grapes yielded by a single bush-vine vineyard, which grows in the Paardeberg region in granitic soils.

All of the grapes were picked early in the morning, packed in crates and allowed to spend 24 hours in a cold room. The following day the grapes were pressed gently and as whole clusters to obtain the perfect colour. The free run juice was then drained into a stainless-steel tank to settle for 24 hours.

No enzymes were used during the settling process. The juice was racked from the thick lees to 500 L old French oak barrels, after which the wine fermented naturally in the barrel. After fermentation, the wine was given a low dose of sulphur and left on the lees. The wine spent a total of 6 months in old barrels before it was blended and bottled.

“Part of the range extension at Wolf and Woman – keep them coming, please – this is a Tavelmeets- Côtes-de-Provence rosé made with Grenache grown on decomposed granite soils. Subtle reduction, a nip of tannin and redcurrant and raspberry fruit are embellished by ageing in older oak”

“Province in style with a Swartland edge. The perfect balance of floral nuances, orange blossom & rose petals playfully intertwine with subtle fresh fruit, pomegranate, honey-due melon, citrus, and soft berry aromas. A mineral core, hints of celery, and a bright well-balanced acidity keeps the palate fresh. A crisp and flavoursome Rosé that you can sip on all day, but one that will stand up and demand to be taken seriously; part woman, part wolf perhaps.”
Bubbles Hyland, Liquid Memory, Grenache rosé 2020
“Supple and bright with nice mandarin and citrus. Has good weight. Sappy and detailed, and very refined.”
