SYRAH 2025

WOLF & WOMAN Syrah is a blend of two different vineyards. One being located north west of Malmesbury, situated in red iron-rich soils. The second vineyard is located close to the Riebeekberg Mountain and grows within schist soils.

All of the grapes were hand-picked separately, packed in crates, and rested in a cold room for 24 hours. Bunch sorting was done the next day, after which the grapes were transferred as whole cluster to open-top fermenters, where it cold-soaked for 3 days before natural fermentation started.

Once fermentation was completed the wine was left on the skins for 12 days before we lightly pressed it and transferred it to 500 L old oak barrels. The vintage was then allowed to mature for 10 months before it was racked, blended, and bottled.

“This is vivid, inky and powerful with lovely sweet black cherry fruit and some peppery brightness and really good structure. Fresh and elegant but also structured with real finesse. Grippy and delicious, this is wonderful.”

“Incense, black olive and bacon fat flavours are supported by dense tannins, lots of grip, focus and intensity, layers of inky dark berry fruit and top notes of wild thyme and rosemary. Brilliant stuff”
